AMD Fired Two Execs. Last month, the company fired CTO Phil Hester and said they would have to cut amd logo 1,680 jobs because of mounting losses and weak revenues. But this time, AMD again created the buzz by firing two of their executives Mario Rivas, EVP and head of computing solutions, and Michel Cadieux, chief talent officer. What's interesting here is that their Talent Officer was included. Additionally, AMD created a new central engineering organization, and promoted Randy Allen, the former head of the server business to take Rivas’ place.

Facebook’s 23-year-old CTO Adam D'Angelo is leaving

The 23-year-old Adam D'Angelo, Faceboook's CTO for the social-networking site, will be leaving the company to take some extended time off. He has known Facebook Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg since high school and has been working close with Mark since Facebook's inception.

Moreover, according to reports that D'Angelo wrote a letter to Facebook staff about the sudden move last friday, and that bold move by D'Angelo was just in time when the rumore errupted that Facebook is borrowing $100 Million because it can't sell stocks.

Anyway, a lot hopped that such move was just a mere coincidence.

Additionally, Facebook won't be replacing D'Angelo's role as Facebook’s CTO but they are considering a VP for engineering for the meantime to do D'Angelo's stuffs.

“Intangible assets – How much are they really worth?

“Intangible assets – How much are they really worth? Organizational entry isn’t just about finding the right person at the right time for the right job. It is also about keeping the right person. But how can we keep such valuable asset amidst the growing industries that promises to offer a fun place to work with plus perks together with extremely high starting rate? This is just one of those deep-seated questions being thrown now days by HR executives in every round table brainstorming there is. This has been one of the reasons why thinkers such us J. Collins & Porras adopted “built to last concept”, R.M Kanter urged executives to become “change masters” & Welch embraced “boundaryless” organization initiated with an open-book strategy just to encourage innovation and creativity to better position their respective organizations. To borrow one CEO’s statement “Take away my assets and leave my people.” This is one proof of how valuable these intangibles are to every organization striving to keep its pace in the new emerging economy.

You’re only worth 15 seconds to a recruiter.

You’re only worth 15 seconds to a recruiter. Can you believe that? How terrible isn't it? But for all you know it's a fact. No recruiter spends too much time on reviewing your resume once you apply. How about in the call center for sure my resume is worth their time. That I doubt. Due to shortage of supply plus an average of 7% turn over in this type of industry I doubt if they'll go over with your resume. They'll just call you directly (reviewing your resume for 15 sec) conduct a caned type of interview and your good to go if you pass.
